StrawPoll understands the importance of privacy to our users. As an application built ontop of the Twitter API, we allow you to expand your Twitter experience. In order for users to post their own polls on StrawPoll and Twitter, we ask for users Twitter usernames and passwords. Your password is never stored on our server. While a user is logged in, we issue a temporary cookie containing an encrypted version of your Twitter password that only StrawPoll can read. Upon logging out, StrawPoll has no further access to your Twitter account.
We store various personal Twitter account settings on our server, including (but not limited to) color scheme, background image URL, profile color URL, user name, twitter ID, and other settings used to customize personal StrawPoll pages.
